7 of my favourite brands for children.

There are labels I discovered walking around the stands and that have a special place in my shopping list.

School started again and I was finally able to sit down again, drink my cup of coffee -cashew milked (thanks, M! it foams beautifully!), and browse through the pages of one of my fav magazine, Milk.
It does not matter much whether is about design, leisure, interiors, travels: all the visuals they publish are pure joy for the eye. Photos are always inspirations and when it comes to fashion for children, Milk is simply the place to go to discover new trends and timeless gems.
Plus, I was lucky to meet some of the people behind Milk and they are a bunch of such lovely girls!
I meet them last July at Playtime Paris, possibly the most important children’s and maternity trade show worldwide.

Playtime is a huge window for brands and there is no way you end your day without having seen something marvelous. Something you really would like to have in your adult size! At least, that is what I think every time I see a swimsuit from mini rodini, for example. And did I mention the brand’s swimsuit now are recycled polyamide made from ocean waste? Love these sustainable factors.
Apart from the big brands I won’t mention here as everybody knows them already (Ferm Living, Bobo Choses, Gray Label, Little Creative Factory and so on), there are labels I discovered walking around the stands and that have a special place in my shopping list.
Plus, it’s sales time and I bet that online you will find things too good not to have.

1. Rylee & Cru

www.ryleeandcru.com
The owner is an illustrator and all the garments are quite full of imagination and very soft and lovely. And the basics are hand garment dyed so a bit vintage in their aspect, still the collection feels very modern too. Super simple and yet beautiful. We got a pair of bottom shorts which were very comfy. Have a look at their nice website and you’ll immediately the idea of tenderness.

2. Pepè shoes

www.pepechildrenshoes.it
An Italian factory producing shoes, perfect for first steps till teen’s life. Chic, stylish and simple, Pepè shoes are always well recognisable. Only one downside, their website: their product is truly beautiful and comfy and pictures do not convey this idea well. What do you think?

3. Poudre Organic

www.poudreorganic.fr
I love this brand and its delicate tones and soft fabrics. Their offer entails garments and also beautiful bed accessories; the production is based in Europe and their cotton is organic. Their blouses call for a free ride in a summer field and we are so fond of our blouse with volant that we’ll finish up dressing dolls with that, instead of giving it away. I know.

4. The Small Gatsby

www.thesmallgatsby.com
This is a luxury brand, handcrafted in Austria, it may be more on the dream side, but their collection is sensational. I visited their stand for the first time at Pitti Bimbo and I felt in love immediately. I wish them all the best because they had the courage to follow their vision of quality craftsmanship and to design their splendid garments like in the old days, with patience, cherishing heritage. And here is what they talk about. Great work Anita and Teresa!

5. miomio.bio

I met the two ladies at Pitti Bimbo too and I’ve immediately got a nice feeling about them and their work. They grew a lot since last year and if you visit their website you’ll see how much they’re doing and how much they care about sustainability and quality.
All pieces are unique and sewn by hand and all models are tailor-made. 100% Italian. I love most of their products although our fav is RE+GINA, B loves it!

6. Wild & Gorgeous

I am not sure about sustainability or about their supply chain and have not read anything on their website. I will ask. Finger crossed because they have the best party dress for girls! I was totally tempted to buy a dress for B last year, have a look at this beauties.
You just want to party-hard every day with one of these, right?!

7. minimalisma

www.minimalisma.com
This is a small brand I have worked for and to which I am particularly fond of. For many reasons. The owner is a friend of mine and I know how she works, the passion she puts into her job and all the beautiful natural materials she sources from the best suppliers. Maja has done an amazing work being a mom and a successful entrepreneur and even if she does not know, she has inspired me a lot during these years, she surprised me with things I would have trusted to do just differently and she grew enormously in the most organic way ever. I have prep an interview for her and I promise to sit her on a chair soon and make her spill her secrets. But not all 😉

Happy browsing!
