It took me a while to visit Beckeria since I’ve read about it on Harry’s Ding and after passing by after a stop at Kennedy’s Pub (where, IMO, they serve the best nachos in Zürich – if you have a leak about good nachos, please let me know).
I went there on a Thursday morning for a work meeting and, although the place is quite spacious, mine was the last available table.
Lagerstrasse in Zürich is becoming more popular by the day and with places like Beckeria is easy to understand why.
The shop bread selection is impressive and the overall prices cheaper than the average in Zürich. Let for a moment the advantageous prices aside, the quality of my cappuccino was good.
I will be back for a classic espresso macchiato soon.
Their bread is handmade with care and love, the baking crew uses natural yeast only and the loaf I brought stayed fresh longer than the usual supermarket type.
At Beckeria’s counter, you can have your drink and add a slice of cake or anything else sweet or sour and, if you like it too, enjoy it at the communal table.
If you would like to go for breakfast, their offer is rich and the range of food certainly diversified.
Beckeria is a good option if you go with kids, there are different area where they can walk around in peace.
