My Monday break at Luus Muus

I’m done, GUGUGAGA, so it’s Time.To.Get.Out. It was about time to visit Luus Muus, a cafe, a pre-school, a playroom and much more.

Monday afternoons are tough around here: P goes to school only until 11.55 and B has no nursery so when 3 pm is around the corner (naps are only a sweet memory now), I feel like I’m done, GUGUGAGA, so it’s Time.To.Get.Out.
I generally don’t mind whereas the place I decide to go for coffee is child-friendly or not: if I like it or I feel inspired by it, I just go. If the kids won’t behave (because it can happen) well, it’s not going to be particularly fun, I admit, but I usually prefer to bring them where beauty is. And this can be tremendously dangerous as the best place to have a babyccino for P is Globus, ouch. It was about time to visit Luus Muus, a cafe, a pre-school, a playroom in the heart of Egg, 15 minutes only from Zürich city.
The owner of Luus Muus is Nadia, a mom herself, a teacher too, born in Ireland and grew up in California.
She had this great idea of setting up something new to offer to the big community of mothers living in Zürich, local and foreigners, who have to make it through the day. And ladies you know it can be tough sometimes!

Try their cappuccino while you’re there: they have a very tasty blend of coffee.

I think Nadia made an exceptional job: the cafe countertop is filled with nice cupcakes and other sweet and salty treats too. I had a good quality regular cappuccino and they offer lactose-free milk too. You can enjoy brunch, lunch, dinner there, either in the coffee area or in the playroom.

You can have your private event organized at Luus Muus and at the moment Nadia offers twelve different courses for parents and kids: language lessons, drama, football, art, yoga, you name it. I particularly liked having my cappuccino while the kids were playing safely in the cafe area, which is spacious and great to make new friends too (btw if you, mother of two, just moved to ZH six months ago, remember me, please get in touch!).

Last note: although Luus Muus is meant to be for families with children, I reckon it has been decorated very nicely, with taste, it’s clean, the colours follow a palette (never take this for granted ahah) and furniture is well arranged. Well done!

Have a look at Luus Muus website for more info, it is really worth it. You certainly won’t regret going even if you live a bit far away.
Curious to know your experience, enjoy the visit.
